HE Hobart Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the theft of a convict era man-trap from the Ball and Chain restaurant in Salamanca Place.
Police sad the the theft occurred during the past fortnight.
The large man-trap was on display in the private function room and is a Port Arthur antique.
It is described as being 20kg, over a metre long, matt black in colour with distinctive convict markings moulded into the metal.
Attached to the trap is a length of chain with a large metal spike, about 75cm in length


This year's parade theme is 'The Forgotten War: Korea,' and a group of Korean War veterans will march in the parade as honorary grand marshals. The parade will begin at Cedar Street and continue south on Pacific Coast Highway past Navy Pier to G Street. Entries include marching bands, color guards, troops, antique cars, dignitaries and floats. This year's grand marshal is Lt. Col
