The Boulder Public Library is phasing out its collection of VHS tapes, and by the end of this year, patrons no longer will be able to find the fast-becoming antique technology at any of the city's library branches.
VHS tapes are being removed from the library because many in the collection are worn or damaged, and library officials said they're largely unpopular. Removing them from the shelves will make room for more DVDs and CDs, which are big hits with the library's media users, said Jennifer Bray, library spokeswoman
